Founded in 1975, we have spent nearly five decades supporting mission-critical communications for public safety agencies, transportation authorities, and business organizations throughout the Capital District and upstate New York.

    Our company’s history is closely tied to the evolution of public safety communications. Originally affiliated with GE Mobile Radio, we have remained connected through subsequent transitions to Harris Public Safety and Professional Communications and today’s L3Harris Technologies. This continuity allows us to support both legacy infrastructure and modern digital systems with confidence and precision.

  • Founded in 1975, Capital Digitronics has played an active role in the evolution of public safety and enterprise communications across New York State. From early analog radio systems to today’s digital and IP-based networks, we have continuously adapted our expertise to support changing technologies and operational demands.

    In the 1990s and early 2000s, Capital Digitronics was instrumental in implementing mobile data systems for police agencies throughout the Capital District. Through public-private partnerships, we helped integrate mobile computing hardware and software into existing radio infrastructures, enabling agencies to deploy in-vehicle data systems effectively.

    Our project experience includes the design, installation, and maintenance of county-wide and multi-site simulcast systems, VHF and 800 MHz networks, microwave and fiber backhaul, and dispatch console installations. We have delivered complex systems for counties, municipalities, industrial clients, and statewide agencies—often involving new site construction, system expansion, and long-term lifecycle support.

    Today, we continue to support large-scale communications networks while assisting customers in the transition from legacy analog systems to APCO P25 public safety standards and Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) technologies, with an emphasis on system performance, coverage, and operational continuity.
